Working with Vulnerable Children, Young People and Families – Book review

My latest publication is now available online here.

Extract:

When analysing any piece of literature – being it an extensive research literature review, an epistemological background or a single book review – I postulate that it is crucial to explicit where one stands both as a reader and as a reviewer. When choosing a certain literature, as readers, we open up an intellectual dialogue with the ideas and postulates of the author/s, and when we switch to the active role of reviewing for publication, we move from a discrete dialogue to a more critical and explicit analysis of the author’s discourse. The conversation moves from a private dialogic mode to a socialised conversation. Bearing that in mind, I situate myself in relation to this review first as a reader interested in the topic and subsequently my views on how the book contributes to that body of knowledge.
