Many students in the ASC spectrum, struggle to cope with classroom environment, and end up either excluded from the group or under-performing, due to difficulties in remaining focused. I developed this focus card especially for a particular student, who finds hard to remain in class when he/she was overwhelmed by the pressure to follow instructions while in a large group. The card worked as reminders of the things that he/she needed to focus that week. In certain weeks he would prefer to have a single target, like staying in class, because of several outbursts resulting in either being excluded by the teacher, or self-removal for inability to cope.
