Dear Hilra,

Thank you for coming in to meet with me today. Following our meeting I have spoken with the Head of Upper School (he is in charge of year 10 &11) and he does not feel it would be appropriate for us to tie up year 11 students with your research next half term. It is a very busy time for these students, with many coursework deadlines, and he does not feel it is fair to ask them to put aside the equivalent of 6 or 7 hours during a two or three week period.

I feel the logistics of working with other age groups would be difficult to manage and for this reason I am sorry to say that I am declining your invitation for the School to be involved. I appreciate that it is difficult for you to find suitable students and I know that you will be disappointed with our decision.

With best wishes
