Making Waves: The Count Down to my Book Launch!

The feeling of anticipation is undeniable, and it’s getting stronger with every passing minute! The Bournemouth Writing Festival (24-26 April 2026) is almost here, so my book launch is approaching fast. To say I’m excited is a massive understatement! This festival has such a vibrant energy (as you can see from the posters below).

I’ll be taking the stage on Sunday, 26th April, and I can’t wait to share my work with everyone. There’s just something about Bournemouth that feels right. It’s always reminded me of my hometown, and the sea has been a constant source of inspiration for my writing. The endless horizons, the sound of the waves – it sparks a special kind of creativity in me.

I haven’t gone for a massive invitation list, to be honest. I’m leaving it up to chance, hoping that the amazing festival visitors will be kind enough to stop by and listen. But I am preparing a tiny goodie bag (what a surpirse! Not :), my little bribe! But I know that a little treat only goes so far. The real connection, the thing that will truly resonate, is the inspiration behind this book.

My connection with my protagonist called “Mother”, and how this entire project came to be, is the heart and soul of the story. I truly hope that some mothers out there will see themselves in my stories, and find comfort or familiarity in my words. It’s a personal journey, and I’m ready to share it.

It’s my first time at the festival and it looks absolutely incredible – look at all these fantastic events and panels! I’m contrioburing to the “Creating a Strong Protagonist” panel. If you’re a writer yourself, this is definitely one to check out.

And then there’s the Writers’ Hive, a dedicated space to meet and chat with authors. This will be a wonderful place to connect and celebrate writing. Take a look.

This entire festival will be bursting with creative energy and opportunities to connect with the writing community. I’m so incredibly grateful to be a part of it.

So, if you’re in Bournemouth on Sunday the 26th, come and find me! I’ll be the one with the slight case of butterflies showing in a possibly awkward but sincere smile, and maybe – just maybe – a tiny stripy goodie bag to say hello. See you there! So I hope 🙂
