MPhil/PhD SUPERVISION AGREEMENT
This agreement represents statements of intent only, and the implied obligations are only what a supervisor and student could reasonably be expected to meet under normal circumstances

3. How often are formal supervisory meetings going to be held?
- Fortnightly
4. Who is going to attend these meetings?
- Supervisor, student and other students/staff eventually
5. How are these meeting as going to be recorded?
- Written notes (minutes), initially by supervisor, but gradually the student will take the responsibility for taking notes and making records.
- Tape recorded meetings when necessary/applicable
6. Will the student send written work to the supervisors prior to the meeting for discussion? How many days prior to the meeting should this be sent?
- Yes. 3 days prior to the meeting, by e-mail.
7. Does the student have any additional teaching duties? Would they like to take up this opportunity?
- The student would like to take up the opportunity as soon as she feels confident to do so. Have a word about this in six month time.
8. How will the student access the main supervisor for unscheduled meetings and advice?
- By e-mail (or telephone when suitable)
- Student will inform beforehand when/if needs to cancel a meeting
9. Are there any specific Intellectual Property Rights which need to be discussed?
- Supervisor encourages student to be the author, and the authorship will reflect the involvement in the production, in other words, will be shared when this reflects the reality of the work conception.
10. Who will meet obligations to funding bodies such as writing interim and final reports? What are the dates for such obligations?
- Supervisor will check the regulations for the studentship.
11. When will the student present her/his research to colleagues in SoE?
- When student is ready. It will be negotiable, but as soon as possible.
12. Indicate the approximate dates of submission of the first drafts of the Introduction (including a review of literature) and the Methods sections of the thesis Introduction:
