My journey into becoming an independent author began with a focused effort to master the publishing process. To this end, I enrolled in a comprehensive course covering various aspects of self-publishing. A critical component of this training involved gaining proficiency with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).
To solidify my understanding of the KDP platform, I elected to utilise my existing written material. Specifically, I compiled a selection of essays from my doctoral research training into a concise volume entitled ‘Doctoral Essays.’ This project served as a practical exercise in navigating the KDP interface and understanding the mechanics of digital publishing.
While primarily intended as a learning experience, I chose to maintain the publication of ‘Doctoral Essays’ on the KDP platform. This decision reflects my commitment to documenting my professional development and serves as a tangible record of my initial foray into independent publishing.
