One important aspect of inclusive practice in mainstream school is the allocation of a quiet area, where students can retire to when overwhelmed by social pressures, sensory overload, panic attacks or any other issue that makes them need to remove themselves from the group. A safe, calm and welcoming place makes all the difference.
Here I share with you a log book that I created to monitor the day to day flow of students in the learning hub, allowing me to analyse the factors that caused stress, the activities that helped students to cope, and their responses.
These resources were created by me to be used in the secondary school I used to work for. The school has closed its doors, therefore these resources are no longer in use.
